Ali Mohamed Elshorafa Elhamdai writes… We Look Forward to Achieving Peace, Cooperation, and Tolerance among People in 2026

Between 2025 and 2026

The year 2025 has passed with all its political, social, and economic events. Now, the year 2026 comes, and we do not know what it hides in terms of conditions and horrors. Here we are wondering: Will people take God’s warning and return to Him so that peace may prevail on earth and mercy and blessings may flow upon people?

Allah warned, saying:
“We will surely make them taste the nearer punishment before the greater punishment, that perhaps they will return.” (Surah As-Sajdah: 21)

Prevailing Peace

Will Muslims become more merciful and refrain from killing innocent people? Will they follow the Sharia of Allah and His Qur’an in their lives in order to spread mercy and justice among themselves, deal with benevolence, and prevent aggression that afflicts mankind? Will they cooperate in righteousness and piety? Will they adhere to the rope of Allah to spread peace among people and unite in facing the powers of Satan and his followers, who plot against nations, seize homelands, render people homeless, and spread bloodshed everywhere?

Allah Almighty says:
“And cooperate in righteousness and piety, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in punishment.” (Surah Al-Ma’idah: 2)

He also says:
“And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allah and does righteous deeds and says, ‘Indeed, I am of the Muslims’?” (Surah Fussilat: 33)

The Qur’an and Happiness

Is reassurance achieved in the new year for people without fear, fright, injustice, or oppression? Will people return to the Qur’an, which is the secret of happiness, security, and stability, clarifying the path of right and wrong and warning against oppression and tyranny everywhere, so that people may live in goodness, safety, and prosperity? Will truth triumph over falsehood?

This will not be achieved without holding firmly to the rope of Allah and abandoning division and fragmentation.

Allah says:
“And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you—when you were enemies and He united your hearts, and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the brink of a pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His verses that you may be guided.” (Surah Aal ‘Imran: 103)

Cooperation and Tolerance

I pray on this day, the last Friday of the past year, that Allah’s mercy descends upon people and that the path of guidance prevails—one that achieves peace, cooperation, and tolerance for the goodness of mankind on earth. May Allah forgive people and not punish them for their many sins and for the crimes committed in the name of Islam, as well as their arrogance toward Allah’s Sharia and methodology.

Pardon Us, Forgive Us

Each one of us prays on this day by reciting Allah’s verse:
“Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us, and forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our Protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.” (Surah Al-Baqarah: 286)

Disbelievers are those who deny the signs of Allah and act arrogantly toward the Qur’an. They defy Allah by rebelling against belief in Him—the One who has no partner—and of whom He says:
“To Him belong the keys of the heavens and the earth. He extends provision for whom He wills and restricts it. Indeed, He is Knowing of all things.” (Surah Ash-Shura)
