Ali Mohamed Elshorafa Elhamadi writes… Welcoming Ramadan by Returning to Allah

Days later, Holy Ramadan is coming. We must revise ourselves before this holy month, and we must return and get rid of hatred and antagonism. We must entrench the values of true Islam and its Sharia, which calls for mercy, freedom, justice, peace, and cooperation in goodness and piety. We must follow Allah’s words, which provide the foundation for a happy life, especially since Ramadan is one of the holy months that we must seize. It is one of the opportunities to correct our paths and return to the methodology of Allah, which calls for goodness. Details follow in the context below:
A few days and Holy Ramadan is coming; therefore, we must seize the opportunity to return to Allah. This means returning to what is right: virtue, mercy, justice, and benevolence, and not assaulting people’s souls or their sanctities. Calling people to cooperation and solidarity—not what jurists have distorted in books of narratives. This is because divine orders and precepts, and following virtuous ethics, do not need interpretation or alteration. Allah’s words are clear, calling for the goodness of man and his stability and safety to live a decent life in security and peace.
This is how to return to Allah, and the meaning of His saying in the Qur’an: “Follow [O mankind] what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow, other than Him, any allies. Little do you remember [or reflect]!”
Allah, the Mighty, tells people in clear, frank Arabic: “O mankind, follow the Book of Allah that He has revealed to His trustworthy Messenger. Guidance to the path of right may He guide you to the path of truth and righteousness and grant you a good life in this world, and may He also recompense you by His grace in the Hereafter—Paradise. Do not follow Satan, his followers, or his allies. Consequently, you will be misled and dragged to the path of wrong, and you will live in poverty and misery. Hell will be your reward, which is the worst destiny.”
Returning to Allah is following His Sharia and methodology in the Holy Qur’an. Adherence to His verses, applying His orders, and obeying Him by striving against the soul that inclines to evil, curbing it to continue on the path of right, goodness, and wisdom until man dies, when it cannot be delayed. If man returns to Allah and His Qur’an and acts upon His verses with full sincerity, he will be saved from the punishment and torment anticipated on the Day of Reckoning.

Those who fail in Allah’s obedience and do not follow His verses will be thrown into the fire of the Hereafter forever.
How can we return to the right?
Returning to Allah does not mean tyranny, oppression, aggression, or arrogance toward people. It means benevolence and tolerance with every person, answering beggars, helping the poor and the needy, giving help to the oppressed, and dealing with mercy and justice among people. A man should be benevolent.
It is a sincere commitment to perform acts of worship, such as praying, Zakah, fasting, and pilgrimage. They perform charity and alms for the poor and the needy, who have a defined right in the wealth of the rich. As mentioned in Allah’s Shari’a: “And those in whose wealth is a rightful share for the beggar and the deprived.”

They are partners with the rich in their profits at a rate of 20%. Allah prescribed in His Holy Qur’an: “And know that anything you obtain of war-booty—then indeed, for Allah is one-fifth of it, and for the Messenger, and for [his] near relatives, and the orphans, and the needy, and the [stranded] traveler, if you have believed in Allah…” (Al-Anfal: 41).
Striving in the way of righteousness
All Muslims shall endeavor for the path of righteousness. They show mercy to one another; every person helps the needy. They respect the sacred right of life for each individual. They respect freedom of belief; there is no guardianship over worshippers. They do not follow jurists or sheikhs, as all are influenced by desire and the evil-inclining self. Instead, they follow Allah’s Qur’an, which was revealed in Arabic to His honest Messenger, where there are no riddles or ambiguous words needing interpretation.
However, the enemies of Islam used interpretations and fabricated narratives of the Qur’an as a malignant way to cast doubt on Allah’s Book, hoping that people would abandon Islam. This allowed conspirators against Islam to spread poisonous, contradictory interpretations and fabricated hadiths attributed to the Prophet unjustly and falsely, in order to compete with the Qur’an, turn people away from Allah’s Book, and make them abandon its recitation.
Muslims’ division into Shiites and sectarians
The result was Muslims refraining from the honorable dhikr and following Satan’s allies, whose ideas and calls caused Muslims to fragment into divisions and sects. Every sect was satisfied with what it had. The tribulations they faced, the fierce wars, resulted in bloodshed and the destruction of cities. This led to prevailing horror, fear, and barbarism among Muslims. They fought each other, spreading hatred and malice from fourteen years ago until now, because they disobeyed Allah’s orders, which the Prophet had conveyed to them. They followed the sayings of Satan’s allies, abandoning the Qur’an, facilitating occupation, plundering wealth, and enslaving others.

Allah calls them to unity in His saying: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not be divided” (Al-Imran: 103), so they are strengthened and support each other, protecting their safety and gaining the ability to face enemies. They did not obey God in what would improve their affairs, bring them pride, strength, and adherence to His clear Book.
Warning from Allah, the Mighty
They did not heed Allah’s warning when He says: “And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute, lest you lose courage and your strength depart; and be patient. Indeed, Allah is with the patient” (Al-Anfal).
The Prophet’s obedience, being assigned to convey Allah’s verses and show their purpose for the good of man and his righteousness, to protect him from committing sins and wrongs. People were deaf to Allah’s call to cooperate in piety and goodness and to avoid sins and aggression. They took another path, opposing Allah’s desire, committing sins, and breaking His covenant to abide by His law and methodology in the Holy Qur’an. Consequently, God sent upon them those who inflicted the worst punishment, occupied their lands, plundered their wealth, and enslaved their children.
It is a call for Muslims: return to Allah to gain triumph and mercy, and repent for what you have committed in lies and slanders against Allah and His Messenger. Allah warned slanderers in His Qur’an: “So who is more unjust than he who invents a lie about Allah or denies His signs? Indeed, the criminals will not succeed” (Surah Yunus 10:17). Allah orders His Messenger to call for adherence to His Holy Qur’an to guide people to the straight path and return to their rationality. Many previous nations, arrogant against Allah’s verses, were tortured and dispersed. They were humiliated because of their crimes and sins, and God’s word was fulfilled against them, making them taste the evil of their deeds through painful punishment.
Corruption on Earth
When they awoke to devastation, they disappeared due to their tyranny, vanity, and injustice. Allah’s punishment came from where they did not expect. When the Qur’an mentions divine punishment on tyrannical nations, people must reconsider that Allah’s power is above all, and His punishment shows no mercy to tyrants. He says in the Holy Qur’an: “And those cities—we destroyed them when they wronged, and We made for their destruction a set time.”
Allah gives His worshippers the opportunity to return, avoid His punishment, and repent to lift His anger, as He warned and alerted. Allah told His honest Prophet: “And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred (214). And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers (215). And if they disobey you, then say, ‘Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing.’ And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful” (217).
The states of Prophets and their companions changed after his death they forgot his teachings and what he had told them in his holy book.
Abandoning Qur’an
The companions were sitting around the Prophet while he was teaching them rulings and explaining the wisdom therein. He taught them divine legislation and ethical values, calling them to follow what Allah revealed in His Holy Book, emphasizing mercy, justice, peace, and benevolence.
, During the life of the Prophet, they were merciful and devoted, like students learning from their teacher. They stood united in defense of Islam, placing their very lives at stake to protect the message and safeguard the Prophet, so that the enemies of Allah could not prevail against him.” they were merciful and united in defending Islam. When he died, they deserted the Qur’an and abandoned the qualities of mercy, justice, and benevolence. Afflictions prevailed among them, leading to bloodshed over authority disputes. Satan interfered; falsehood and slander spread, and many companions died. The deserts of the peninsula were watered with their blood. Battles occurred in the name of apostasy, caliphate disputes, or protecting Islam’s message, despite Allah’s command: “And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together, and be not divided.” They did not respond to Allah’s warning :’ and do not dispute, lest you falter and lose your courage”.
The victims included the family of Prophet Muhammad and some companions. Allah shows that they, too, are human, not sinless or sacred, and subject to temptations and desires. All people are accountable on the Day of Judgment. As stated: “So whoever does an atom’s weight of good will see it, and whoever does an atom’s weight of evil will see it.”
People are held accountable on the Day described in the Qur’an: “And the earth will shine with the light of its Lord, and the record [of deeds] will be placed, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought, and it will be judged between them in truth, and they will not be wronged.”
The rule of divine justice
Allah judges people justly. As stated: “Every soul is held in pledge for what it has earned” (Al-Muddathir: 38). The Qur’an clarifies: “On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated [for] what it did, and they will not be wronged.”
After divine judgment, the disbelievers, tyrants, and oppressors are in Hell, while believers witness their fate. The companions of the right will be questioned about the criminals: “What led you into Saqar (Hell)?” They will say: “We were not of those who prayed, nor did we feed the poor, and we indulged in vain talk, and we denied the Day of Judgment, until death came to us” (Al-Muddathir).
The Divine mandate for the Prophet
Allah speaks to the Prophet to show people that he is human, like them. Allah assigned him the mission of prophecy to show the path of right, conveying His verses, teaching he teaches them the purposes of his verses and their benefit in life and what it waits for him in the hereafter from paradise…
In this context, Prophet Muhammad conveys what Allah has commanded through signs and guidance. He clarifies for people the aspects of mercy, justice, and benevolence contained in it, aiming to save them from misguidance so that, by following what has been revealed to him in the divine verses, they can lead a wholesome life.”
He orders His Messenger: “Say, ‘I am only a human being like you, to whom it has been revealed that your God is one God. So whoever hopes for the meeting with his Lord, let him do righteous work and not associate anyone in the worship of his Lord.’”
Nor does he speak out of his desire”
The Holy Qur’an demonstrates to people that every verse is a revelation from Allah and not human speech, as in this case, He does not speak out of personal desire.”
He does not speak out of desire: “Nor does he speak out of desire. Indeed, it is not except a Revelation which is revealed” (An-Najm).
Allah chose him to deliver His message. The Qur’an clarifies: “[This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad]—so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom—that you warn thereby and [it is] a reminder to the believers” (Al-A’raf: 2).
This verse guides people to the path of right, monotheism, and righteous deeds, sheltering in Allah at all times. Allah is always close: “And We are closer to him than [his] jugular vein.”
Prophet Muhammad reports Allah’s verses
If Allah orders the Prophet to report that he is human like other creations in order not to take him as a mediator from Allah or intercessor, in order to prevent people from exaggerating his glorification or taking him as a mediator from Allah . They forgot to remember Allah in order to place the Messenger in the postion of the One who was sent . Some fabricated narratives claim that people’s deeds are shown to the Prophet in his tomb; knowing that this is the mission of Allah who held accountable prophets and messengers and all his creations This falsehood cannot be accepted by reason, logic, or even faith in Allah. This is an aggression in the right of Allah.
Affiliation with the Prophet does not affect one’s accountability on the Day of Judgment except for the one who comes to Allah on the Day of Resurrection with a sound heart and righteous deeds. All are equal before Allah: “And the earth will shine with the Light of its Lord, and the Record will be set in place, and the prophets and the witnesses will be brought in, and Judgment will be made between them equitably, and they will not be wronged” (Az-Zumar: 69).
Prophet’s position (peace and blessings be upon him)
Allah stated: “Muhammad is not the father of [any] one of your men, but [he is] the Messenger of Allah and the last of the prophets. And ever is Allah, of all things, Knowing” (Al-Ahzab).
He did not involve his family in the message; accountability on the Day of Judgment is based on individual deeds: “Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained” (Al-Muddathir: 38).
He describes the Day of Judgment: “On the Day a person will flee from his brother, and his mother and father, and his wife and children; for every person, that Day, will be a matter adequate to distract him from others” (Abbas–37).
The Narrations of Liars
Thus, people no longer believe some scholars and religious figures, nor the narrations of liars and the deception with which they misled the ignorant—those who elevated the Ahl al-Bayt to a status of excessive veneration and sanctification, seeking their intercession and imploring them for help in worldly life and for intercession on the Day of Judgment.
